The data were collected from August 22 to 31, 2006, aboard the CCGS Amundsen. There were 9 casts, associated to 6 oceanographic stations, in the Labrador Sea research area. The following parameters were measured: temperature, conductivity and pressure (with a Sea-Bird SBE-9plus), dissolved oxygen (Sea-Bird SBE-43), pH (Sea-Bird SBE-18-I), fluorescence (Seapoint chlorophyll fluorometer), nitrate concentration (Satlantic MBARI-ISUS 5T), transmittance (Wetlabs C-Star transmissiometer), light intensity (PAR; Biospherical Instruments QCP2300) and surface light intensity (sPAR; Biospherical Instruments QCP2200). Quality control procedures were applied to the data. Data are available on the Polar Data Catalogue and at the Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.\n\ncdm_data_type = Profile\nVARIABLES:\nplatform_name\nplatform_id (Platform WMO ID)\nfilename (Source File Name)\ncruise_name\ncruise_number\ncast_number\nstation\ntime (Initial Start Time, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\nlatitude (Initial Latitude, degrees_north)\nlongitude (Initial Longitude, degrees_east)\nPRES (Sea Pressure, decibars)\ndepth (m)\nTE90 (Temperature (ITS-90), degC)\nPSAL (Practical Salinity, PSU)\nOXYM (Dissolved Oxygen, uM)\npH (Sea water pH, 1)\nNTRA (Nitrate (NO3-N), mmol/m^3)\nFLOR (chl-a fluorescence, ug/L)\n... During transects, multiple consecutive casts of the MVP are conducted, facilitating the collection of data on the physical and chemical characteristics of the water column.\n\nThe MVP was deployed during the Amundsen scientific expeditions, spanning the summer and fall of 2004 to 2024, with the exception of 2005, 2006, and 2019. Data was unavailable for 2012 due to the ship undergoing maintenance. The system components underwent slight variations throughout the year, typically comprising a Micro CTD (Temperature, Conductivity, and Pressure), a Micro DO2 (Dissolved Oxygen), a Micro SV (Sound Velocity and Pressure), an ECOFLO (Fluorescence), and a C-Star (Transmittance) probe.\n\nThe MVP data were meticulously corrected and controlled by comparing them to CTD-Rosette and thermosalinograph (TSG) data whenever feasible. Comprehensive metadata and reports are provided to support the information presented and serve as documentation regarding the data processing methodologies.\n\ncdm_data_type = TrajectoryProfile\nVARIABLES:\nplatform_name\nplatform_id (Platform WMO ID)\nfilename (Source File Name)\ncruise_name\ncruise_number\nsection_number\ncast_number\ntime (Initial Start Time, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\nlatitude (Initial Latitude, degrees_north)\nlongitude (Initial Longitude, degrees_east)\nPRES\n...
